Hinnerk and Piotr are both avid travelers and have experienced many challenges of online booking processes first-hand. We founded flexponsive UG in 2015 to help airlines become more user-friendly online – and thereby improve their bottom line, through increased booking volume and by making ancillaries easier to buy. From our experience in the fashion and retail e-commerce verticals, it quickly became to clear to us that airlines can drastically improve their direct sales by adapting strategies already widely used in these verticals: continuously running live user experiments and putting digital analytics at the core of their online strategy.
Dr. Hinnerk Gnutzmann
Hinnerk is the founder of flexponsive UG and serves as the CEO of the company. A technologist by passion – he made his first open source contribution at age 13 to the Apache web server – and economist by training, he has extensive e-commerce experience. He has consulted for companies such as Volotea, The North Face and Jack Wolfskin.
Hinnerk holds a Double First Class degree from the University of Cambridge, an MPhil from Utrecht University and a PhD from the European University Institute in Florence.
Dr. Piotr Spiewanowski
Piotr is the co-founder of flexponsive. He combines economics education with his passion for psychology. He designed and participated in a large number of live user tests in a follow-up study of the OECD survey of adult skills. Having studied the importance of individual differences he is excited to bring this knowledge to the airline industry. As a high altitude moutaineer and a devoted long distance runner he is always ready to go the extra mile.
Piotr studied economics and psychology in Poland, Norway, UK and Italy and holds an MA from Warsaw School of Economics and a PhD from the European University Institute in Florence.
